John and I got to go on vacation a couple weekends ago (thanks Mom and Dad for watching the kids for us=). We went to Fredericksburg for a three-day weekend and had a really nice time. We stayed at a bed-and-breakfast just outside town
http://www.chuckwagoninn.com/larry-bills-chuckwagon.htm It was a really neat place. There was a Catina area just outside our room where everybody could hang out and have drinks and snacks. We had a lot of fun sitting and talking with the owners and other couples. The owners were also great cooks. I would highly recommend staying there if any of you go to Fredericksburg. Unless of course you want the lacy, fru-fru, creepy-upstairs-in-someone's-house type B&B; then you might want to look somewhere else. For us though, this one was just our style. They even made dinner reservations for us at one of the local restaurants, the Cotton Gin
http://www.cottonginlodging.com/restaurant.html which was very yummy.
On our way back home, we stopped at the Natural Bridge Caverns for a tour http://www.naturalbridgecaverns.com/ It was really neat to see all the different formations.
Then, we stopped in Gruene at a really cool restaurant right on the river http://www.gristmillrestaurant.com/ It was a neat town and the food was really good. I hope we get to go back and explore the town more someday.
Well, that was pretty much it. It sure was nice to be able to sleep in, relax with John, and to not have two other little mouths to feed 3-5 times a day. They sure are cute little mouths though ;)
